us

Țiriac Telekom Arena skating rink, operated by Ion Țiriac Foundation and built on the initiative of Mr. Ion Țiriac, was inaugurated on December 7, 2016, in the presence of famous guests such as Simona Halep, Horia Tecău, Ilie Năstase, Mihai Leu, Mihai Covaliu, Elisabeta Lipă, Andreea Răducan, Violeta Beclea-Szekely, Octavian Belu, Mariana Bitang, Sandra Izbasa, Bogdan Stelea, Marius Copil, Mihnea Costoiu, Bogdan Enoiu, Ambassador of Canada to Romania - Kevin Hamilton and Mayor of Otopeni town - Silviu Constantin Gheorghe, but also in the presence of 150 pupils from the city of Otopeni.

Țiriac-Telekom Arena is a unique project, the only skating rink in the Bucharest-Ilfov area developed according to the latest international Olympic standards and in line with the indications of the International Hockey Federation (FIH).

Its main goal is to encourage the practice of sports among children, young people and to support sports teams in achieving highest performances.

The skating rink located on Drumul Gării Odăi Street (Otopeni) has a built-up area of 4,863 sqm, a capacity of about 450 seats, and the total investment in its building process amounted to 3.6 million Euros.

The site provides visitors with 4 locker rooms for hockey teams, 6 individual lockers for sports skaters and a cloakroom for the general public. In addition, it benefits from a 70-seat car park, with adapted spaces, including for buses.

The Țiriac-Telekom Arena offers free skating initiation courses for children aged 3 to 9 years. In addition, the skating rink can also be accessed free of charge by groups organized of children and students wishing to practice ice sports.

The skating activities which take part at Țirac-Telekom Arena are supported by the Ion Țiriac Foundation, with the support of its partners: Telekom, Allianz-Țiriac, Skoda and Dedeman, aiming at promoting the idea of practicing sport among the youngsters and of finding and training new champions.

Hockey
Children taking part in the initiation courses and demonstrating skills in practicing ice sports are integrated into the junior hockey teams set up by Țiriac-Telekom Arena with support from sponsors. They benefit from ice skating training and dedicated equipment which is free of charge. The Țiriac-Telekom Arena skating rink also provides free access to junior hockey sports clubs for the purpose of their training.

The Țiriac-Telekom Arena offers free skating initiation courses for children aged 3 to 9 years. In addition, the skating rink can also be accessed free of charge by groups organized of children and students wishing to practice ice sports.

Private subscriptions and lessons, for both children and adults, include monitor, skating rink acces, skates rental and protective equipment. The courses are supported by the Tiriac Telekom Arena’s monitors and the participation is possible exclusively based on a schedule made at e-mail adress receptie@fundatiaiontiriac.ro.

Aerobics and body toning courses

The Țiriac-Telekom Arena is organizing aerobics and body toning courses, which are held in the gym on the upper floor of the ice rink.

The courses take place under the guidance of the aerobic gymnastics teacher, fitness and bodybuilding Monica Gheorghe, graduate of the National Academy of Physical Education and Sport.
